Biography

Morgan Dixon leads the largest health movement in America for Black women - GirlTrek - with over one million members, two major TED Talks and a viral podcast called Black History Bootcamp. Morgan was named among the top 1% of social innovators in the world with fellowships from Echoing Green (2013), Ashoka (2014), The Aspen Institute (2015) and New Profit (2017). In 2018, GirlTrek won The Audacious Prize.

GirlTrek is a bold idea. The mission is to increase the life expectancy of Black women by 10 years in 10 years. Through national campaigns, community leadership, and health advocacy, GirlTrek mobilizes Black women to be changemakers in their communities and personal lives. Simply put, they walk, talk and solve problems together to transform their own lives and their communities. At scale, this will inspire the world.

Morgan started her career on the frontlines of education with Teach for America and is currently a social innovator at Harvard.
