Influencing the Sector

In its first year, Grantmakers for Girls of Color deployed $4 million to organizations focused on girls of color via three funds—Love is Healing COVID-19 Response Fund; Black Girl Freedom Fund; and the New Songs Rising Initiative focused on Indigenous communities.

Hispanics in Philanthropy created an Essential Fund, which has disbursed $2.5 million in grants to 101 organizations across 34 states to support Latinx essential workers disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
