Biography

Henning Ringholz is the Global Market Development and Livelihoods Adviser for GOAL, an international development organization with an annual program spend in excess of 200m US$. In this position he initiated and currently leads the private sector engagement, market development and social enterprise and impact investing practice of the organization.

The organization has seen significant growth in this area in the past years and is making a market-driven, entrepreneurial approach a cornerstone of their development practice. GOAL is becoming a catalyst for the development of local market systems, mentoring and supporting small and growing businesses through programs linking them with finance, value chain and IT partners.

Henning holds degrees from Cambridge University in social and political sciences (BA) and technology policy (M.Phil.), and has more than 15 years’ experience in business, entrepreneurship and market-based development

His personal experience as an entrepreneur in the fast food sector helps Henning understand the challenges of start-ups and small and growing businesses, as well as their crucial role in the development of local economies.
