Biography
Amanda Potelwa is a pan-African leader with a keen interest in agriculture and the role it can play in empowering Africans at large while improving the standard of living. At Babban Gona, she is a Senior Associate leading Corporate Finance team.
Before Babban Gona she worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company where she gained pan-African experience across various industries including healthcare, supply chain management, capital productivity, agriculture, banking, and data and analytics. She fulfilled work streams focused on developing strategies, performing diagnostics of organisation performance, implementing strategies, and building a dynamic financial model to validate and drive organisation strategy. In addition, she led client teams of varying sizes with significant interaction and co-creation of solutions with junior and senior executives.
Her earlier experience involved her working for Investec as an Internal Consultant. This role involved interacting with and assisting clients with personal finance transactions, investment activities and financing deals for the purchase and building of various assets. She completed her BCom Economics and Finance degree at the University of Cape Town and then went on to complete her Honours degree in Economics Sciences at the University Of Witwatersrand.
