Biography
Adaeze Sokan is a fanatic for Economic Prosperity in Africa. She believes in a prosperous Africa triggered by innovation driven entrepreneurship. She develops program design, policy and strategies that promote job creation and access in the digital space especially at state and local levels. She believes that the future of Africa will be built by entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs that leverage technology, innovation and the power of their minds to tackle complex problems across diverse sectors.
She channels this belief through her work at Ventures Platform where she serves as the Director of Design, Strategy and Quality Assurance; and through her blog publication called the African Fix where she also advocates for policy makers, investors and community leaders/innovators to deploy solutions that support the growth of digital and local economies in Africa as efforts to reduce poverty on the continent. She leads the Design, Strategy & Quality Assurance team at Ventures Platform where they create strategies for entrepreneurs, development partners, big corporates and government institutions critical to the growth of digital economies. She designs and coordinates the implementation of programs and policies that enhance entrepreneurship, talent development, infrastructure support, data analysis, investments, and regulatory support. She has significant experience in Nigeria's innovation and technology ecosystem and has worked with diverse stakeholders such as the World Bank, Google, British Council, USAID, Embassies as well as selected Nigerian Government Institutions, to promote Nigeria's digital economy and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
She also facilitates workshops and trains different stakeholders on problem solving, critical thinking and logical reasoning as well as how to develop sustainable and successful business models.She has a Bachelor's degree and a Masters in Political Science/Economics and African Studies from Illinois State University and UCLA respectively
