Shannon Gibbons

Biography

Shannon brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and capacity building for programs focused on breaking barriers to social mobility and transforming the trajectories of under resourced individuals and families. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Shannon was Chief Development Officer of NPower (2010 – 2018), a national nonprofit that creates pathways to economic prosperity by launching digital careers for military veterans and young adults from underserved communities. During her tenure, she built a dynamic development department and grew annual revenue across all sectors, led geographic program expansion, recruited national and advisory board members and served as interim CEO.

Prior to joining NPower, Ms. Gibbons founded Central Park West Productions, a nonprofit consulting and management firm focused on board and organizational capacity building to scale programs. Critical to the company’s success was fundraising for social good using jazz programming to raise awareness and vital support for community nonprofits. This work was an extension of her career as a jazz vocalist recording with many of the legendary founding musicians of the genre all of whom donated their time and talent in support of those in need of opportunities.
