How do I plan for the Skoll World Forum in Oxford?

Is there a mobile app for this year’s Forum?

The Skoll World Forum will be available on Hopin, our virtual event platform. A week before the Forum, the event will go live on Hopin, where you can create a profile, manage an agenda, and send messages to other delegates. Our team will email you an access link.

You can use Hopin on your mobile device on your preferred browser or as a mobile app (recommended). To access the Forum on the Hopin app, download the mobile app before clicking on your access link. Once you have the app installed and click on your access link, you’ll be taken to Skoll World Forum “reception” to navigate from there.

What are your COVID-19 health and safety precautions?

Everyone attending is required to be up to date on vaccinations per US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. Masks, sanitizers, and antigen tests will be available throughout the week. Please test before joining us and isolate if you're feeling ill.

When should I arrive in Oxford for the Forum?

If possible, please plan to arrive in Oxford by Tuesday April 11, 2023 and depart on Saturday April 15, 2023. For anyone observing religious holidays during that time, we will share opportunities to gather in community and other ways in which Skoll can support your observance while at the Forum.

How do I travel to Oxford and where should I stay?

This resource page has more details about traveling to and around Oxford. Additionally, you can review our recommendations for lodging. There are a variety of hotels and rentals in Oxford that we suggest booking as soon as possible.

How do I observe religious holidays during the Forum?

Delegates planning to observe Easter, Ramadan, or Passover while in Oxford will have opportunities to gather in community, as well as receive support from the Skoll team during your religious observance at the Forum.

For anyone arriving in Oxford early and observing Easter: Delegates can observe Easter service at a variety of locations in Oxford, including at St Aldates Church, St Aldates, Oxford, OX1 1BT, with services on April 9, 2023 at 10am, 12 noon, 4pm, and 6pm.

For anyone observing Ramadan: Delegates can pick up a snack bag in the SBS lobby for pre-dawn and post-sundown meal support. Delegates observing Ramadan can use the Forum’s Quiet Room for daily prayers, located in TBEC Seminar Room 9. Floor mats will be provided. The building is accessible to delegates from 9:30am - 6pm on Wednesday, April 12, and 8am - 6pm on Thursday and Friday, April 13 - 14. Join Jummah prayers at 1.30pm on Friday April 14 at Central Oxford Mosque Society, Manzil Way, Oxford, England, United Kingdom, OX4 1DJ. (10 minute taxi ride from SBS)

For anyone observing Passover: Matzah will be available throughout the week at Said Business School and at most Forum meals outside of SBS. Please email registration@skoll.org if you require certified Kosher for Passover meals. The deadline for these requests is March 24th. Requests made after this date are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

What kind of meals are served at the Forum?

Several meals are included in your registration package, including dinner on Wednesday and breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday.

To reduce our carbon footprint, no red meat, pork, or chicken will be served at the Forum. Most meals will be pescatarian or lacto-ovo vegetarian. In most cases, we will also offer dairy free, gluten free, nut-free, and vegan options. Menu ingredients and allergens will be listed whenever possible.

In the spirit of the Forum, we hope you understand that while most dietary preferences will be addressed, there may be occasions where you will want to supplement your own meals. There are many wonderful pubs, restaurants, cafés, and well-stocked grocery stores throughout Oxford where you can purchase additional food supplies.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We understand travel plans may need to change due to evolving global health and safety directives. We’ll refund your registration fee, less a $50 administrative fee, on all requests received by Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Cancellations requested after March 15 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis after the Forum concludes. In addition to a $50 administrative fee, refunds processed via PayPal may be subject to PayPal’s online money transfer fees. Please email us at registration@skoll.org with any questions about cancellations, invitation transfers, and switching your attendance from in-person to online only.
