    Simon runs Shell Foundation’s Access to Energy Programme, which has the goal of helping to provide access to modern energy services for the poor. Before joining the Shell Foundation in 2000, Simon worked globally in a broad range of business and development roles, with experience in start-ups, multinationals and non-profit organisations.
  • Founder and CEO, Hybrid Social Solutions
    Jim Ayala has worked on economic development issues in emerging markets for 29 years in his various roles as social entrepreneur, CEO of a listed company, management consultant and trustee of several non-profit organisations. He believes that business and investment capital have an essential role to play in solving urgent social problems by working with communities and other stakeholders to scale up social innovations at the base of the economic pyramid. Jim is a Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Ernst&Young EOY Philippines.
  • Senior Vice President of Social Impact, The Huffington Post
    Brian Sirgutz is Senior Vice President of Social Impact at AOL/Huffington Post Media Group, where he leads all aspects of the company's impact content and engagement strategy. Brian created the Impact, Education, TEDWeekends and Good News verticals that reach over 20 million people on a monthly basis and is leading the development of social impact-related business and product development innovations on the Huffington Post’s platform. Prior to this he was a founding member and President of Causecast, a pioneering firm specializing in social impact technology platforms. Brian also is an advisor to the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation.

    Mr. Mangat invests in – and enables operations for – sustainability enterprises across global markets. He is Senior Advisor to The Roda Group, a sustainability focused fund based in Berkeley, California. At Roda he enables portfolio companies to access new markets, sources of funding and exit opportunities. Prior to Roda, Mr. Mangat was a Partner and member of the Investment Committee at LGT Impact Ventures. LGT Impact Ventures is the impact investment arm of LGT Bank, the world’s largest private asset manager. Prior to LGTIV, Mr. Mangat helped set up Omidyar Network (ON) in India, and was senior member of the founding team investing more than $100M in impact investments. Mr. Mangat has led investments and enabled operations for the world’s leading sustainability enterprises – d.light (ON) and M-Kopa (LGTIV) – as well as several leading AgTech (e.g. Abhay Nutrition), FinTech (e.g. Aye Finance) and Healthcare (e.g. EyeQ; acquired by Japan’s Hoya Corp) impact investments both directly and via funds like SONG and SEAF. Previous to Impact Investing, Mr. Mangat established the Indian operations for OATSystems, an MIT-spinoff RFID software company acquired by Checkpoint (NYSE: CKP) in 2008. Mr. Mangat has worked as an investment consultant for both The Carlyle Group’s Indian venture capital arm as well as California-based Swander Pace. He began his career as a clean-water R&D engineer at Osmonics, Inc. (acquired by GE Power). Mr. Mangat holds an MBA from Kellogg, a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Cornell and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, where he was a National Talent Scholar.

Prior to CIG, Dipender was Chief of Staff at Cadence, a global leader in electronic design, where he built & managed businesses that worked closely with electronics companies around the world. Prior to that he was at Data General (EMC), Honeywell, ROLM (IBM), & GFERC. He’s an electrical engineer by training & attended UND, Univ of Minnesota & Stanford. Dipender serves on the boards of AST, Electric Hydrogen, Halio, Joby (NYSE:JOBY), Navitas (NDAQ:NVTS), QuantumScape (NYSE:QS), Saildrone, SPAN & Summit Nanotech, International Solar Alliance, IonE, the Cyclotron Road Leadership Council, PRIME IAC, & commissioner of the Global Commission to End Energy Poverty (GCEEP).
