Biography

Carolina Gomez, Executive Director, Transforming Philanthropy Initiative (Filantropia Transformadora)
Carolina is the Executive Director of Transforming Philanthropy Initiative, based in Bogota (Colombia). Carolina has 10 years of work experience in social development, across multiple countries: Colombia, USA, and Europe. She grew up primarily in Colombia, with a few years in Brazil and the USA. Carolina has a bachelor´s degree in Economics from The University of Chicago and a master’s degree in Social Policy and Development from The London School of Economics. Prior to joining the Transforming Philanthropy Initiative, Carolina was Programs Officer at Fundacion Corona (leading family foundation in the country), where she was responsible for the design, execution and evaluation of various education projects. She has also worked in the public, private and multilateral sector, both at the national and international level: Agencia Colombiana para la Reintegracion (Bogota), UNICEF (Geneva), IFC – World Bank (Bogota), AlvarAlice Foundation (New York), and Morgan Stanley Investment Bank (New York). Carolina loves to travel, see the world, scuba dive and yoga.
